Matrixdock Signs MOU with Cactus Custody and the RWA International Society

On 15 December 2025, Matrixport, the global one-stop digital asset financial services platform, was invited to attend the launch ceremony of the RWA International Society Limited and the kickoff of the inaugural RWA Global Summit, hosted by the RWA International Society and organized by Bauhinia Magazine in Hong Kong.

During the event, Matrixdock, Matrixport’s dedicated RWA platform, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Cactus Custody, a leading institutional digital-asset custodian, and the RWA International Society. Together with representatives from the fintech industry and academia, the parties marked another milestone in establishing this RWA ecosystem institution and the official start of preparations for the first RWA Global Summit.

Industry Insights: Tokenized Gold from a Technology Perspective

The summit brought together industry participants across digital assets and fintech to discuss RWA development trends, technological pathways, and ecosystem collaboration models, exploring how digital assets can integrate with and enhance the real economy.

In the industry insights session, Seth Yan, Senior Director of Strategy at Matrixdock, delivered a keynote titled “Gold RWA: Building a New Standard for Digital Gold.” Drawing on Matrixdock’s involvement in Bhutan’s sovereign gold-token initiative, he outlined practical pathways to implement tokenized gold in real-world scenarios.

Seth highlighted Matrixdock’s role as the core tokenization technology partner for TER, Bhutan’s forthcoming gold-backed digital token. He shared the team’s focus areas in advancing gold RWAs:

  • Improving transparency across the gold supply chain using blockchain technology;

  • Enhancing asset security within compliant frameworks; and

  • Enabling interoperability and liquidity for tokenized gold across multi-chain environments.

Custody Perspective: Evolving Institutional Needs

Representing Cactus Custody, Jessie Gao emphasized the industry’s shift from early-stage experimentation to a more regulated and orderly phase, noting that institutional clients and their investors now place increasing importance on asset security and compliance.

She shared that security requirements today extend far beyond physical protection—they encompass on-chain interactions, data storage, and the full operational lifecycle. For RWAs specifically, the secure management of on-chain asset proofs is fundamental to ensuring authenticity, trust, and seamless circulation of real-world assets in digital form.

Institutions, she noted, require custody solutions that not only meet stringent security and compliance standards but also support innovation and new business models.

Three-Party MOU: Advancing RWA Ecosystem Collaboration

During the summit agenda, Matrixdock, Cactus Custody, and the RWA International Society formally signed the MOU, signaling the trio’s shared commitment to advancing the RWA sector. The agreement lays a foundation for ongoing collaboration across industry dialogue, technology exploration, and ecosystem development.

Matrixport noted that, as a leading digital-asset financial platform deeply engaged in blockchain infrastructure, it will continue to leverage its strengths in compliance and technology to support RWA growth. Through Matrixdock, the group will collaborate with custodians, technology providers, and industry partners to advance practical applications of real-world asset tokenization across diverse scenarios.
